From October 19 to 26, people from Chengdu Xingcheng Group, Sichuan Provincial Investment Group, Chengdu Engineering Corporation Limited of POWERCHINA and Sichuan Furun Company formed a delegation to visit Pakistan and Sri Lanka to carry out project investigations.
In Pakistan, the delegation visited relevant people from local government and companies and learned about Pakistan’s energy development, infrastructure construction and investment environment. The group focused on the Hyderabad 150MW wind power generation project and visited the site of the projects to be invested and the sites of wind power plants that had already been put into operation. The parties exchanged ideas on key issues such as power grid interconnection and power price. The Pakistani officials said they would support the wind power projects.
In Sri Lanka, the delegation visited local government officials and said that they wanted to cooperate with Sri Lanka in fields such as energy, water affairs, infrastructure construction and industry. The parties exchanged their ideas on investment policies, laws, taxes and other issues and discussed issues such as specific investment projects, investment procedures and investment return. During the visit, the delegation also communicated with China-invested enterprises engaged in projects investment and construction in Sri Lanka and negotiated with them over projects that they may jointly invest in.
